When did you start your fitness journey or started training?
I started my training in 2016. I took about a year off because of pregnancy and got serious again in 2018.
Favorite module of training?
My favorite training modalities are strength training, HIIT, and jumping rope.
What are the most rewarding things you've achieved since your journey?
Definitely weight loss is a plus but it seems like the other rewards have been almost endless. I’ve gotten stronger and more able to tolerate exercises that used to kill me before. I train with a wonderful community of people who always push me to be better both inside and out of the gym. Working out in the morning is my uninterrupted “me time”.
What lesson(s) have you learned this past year?
I’ve learned that nothing is truly within my control, so you have to learn to ride the waves as they come. I’ve also learned that it is possible to experience joy in the midst of misfortune. You have to be open to possibilities.
How does lift heavy make you feel?
Lifting heavy makes me feel so unconquerable! It makes me feel like a beacon of encouragement for other women!
Advice to others...
There’s no secret to finding motivation to train. You just have to search for and find an activity you love, and stick with it!
